Sup and good afternoon. I have a strange Tuesday off work. Why?! Because retail and there’s no such thing as a consistent schedule. Fuck my face, right?
Anyway, there’s this thing I read about earlier today and it’s a Tumblr page dedicated to people taking selfies at funerals and our president was actually featured there just recently! My first reaction was to shake my head and roll around my house wtfing and spilling coffee everywhere. But then I thought about it for a few ticks and I was all like… WAIT! MAYBE THIS IS GOOD! MAYBE PEOPLE ARE STARTING TO HAVE MORE FUN AT FUNERALS! MAYBE BARENAKED LADIES ARE STARTING TO RUB OFF ON PEOPLE! MAYBE, SOON, WE’RE ALL GOING TO BE THE KIND OF GUYS AND GALS WHO LAUGH AT A FUNERAL!
So, let’s leave the black dresses at home and put on day-glo headbands, pump up the Dire Straits, and plan to have our funerals held at skating rinks and dance clubs. We can have prerecorded videos of the deceased dancing on a large screen as we dance along with them one last time… and take selfies. This will be much better.
What does this have to do with our band? Well, I’m the singer and this is what I’m thinking this afternoon.
Round these parts tonight there ain’t much traffics out on the roads; there be snows! Just wanted to let everyone know that there’s no band practice tomorrow on account of I have to work my fancy computer job at night and also Pat Renner is out of town for a thing. And now you know. If you were really excited about us getting together tomorrow, please take your excitement and find something else to transfer it over to, because I’d hate for us to be the reason you just flat out aren’t excited tomorrow night.
Here’s tonight’s news. We practiced this evening and then Bob hung out for awhile after everyone else went home. That’s all I got.
